- being familiar with realism and naturalism in France (and with the socio-cultural context, etc.)
- Knowing the particularities (topics, narrative strategies, esthetics) of realist/naturalist novels
- Being capable of analzying a realist/naturalist novel by using different appropriate tools
- Being capable of presenting research outcomes in an appropriate way (written and oral)
1) theoretical part: presentation of key-concepts and analytical tools
2) practical part: Text Analysis & application of analytical tools
