Learning Outcome:

Various linguistic fields which don't belong to the basic program of linguistics will be discussed, such as selected aspects of pragmatics, cognitive linguistics, etc. Other standard topics will be brushed up as they are part of the reading list exam.

Contents:

some standard topics of linguistics and some other topics which are not always dealt with such as cognitive pragmatics, lexical pragmatics, etc.

Methods:

presentation of some topics; discussion; talks

Assessment:

talk, active participation; a paper

Literature:

will be discussed at the beginning of the semester
