Participants will gain an overview over current as well as historically significant gender theory, and will learn to apply it in reading. Through the reading and interpretation of various works by Anton Chekhov, they will learn to embed gender-related aspects in a larger literary and philsophical structure.

Familiarization with historical and current gender theory, discussion of its usability on  literary texts, text analysis and close reading under gendertheoretical aspects
