Imparting in-depth knowledge of historical developments in the Middle East, which have led to the Arab Spring, serving also as examples of specific problems of countries of the so-called Third World.

The course focuses on the history and contemporary history as well as the sociopolitical context of revolutionary dynamics in confrontation with Middle Eastern authoritarian regimes as in Egypt, Syria, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain etc., which paved the way to the Arab Spring.

 

Lecture

Written examination in the penultimate working session (January 23, 2018).

Will be discussed at the first lecture.

This lecture is also referred to as Global History I or II for students with Curricula BA of History (2009), i.e. a reduced workload will be applied in this case.
