This course offers an overview of the underlying concepts and practical skills that are needed for EFL students to develop listening and speaking skills in English. Students will learn methods and strategies for planning and implementing listening and speaking instruction for all ages and all relevant levels from A1-B2+.

Specific topics will include how listening and speaking work (findings from applied linguistics), the PWP model of teaching listening, the importance of training metacognitive strategies, the features of spoken language, concrete activities and methods for improving speaking fluency at all levels, etc.

We will also deal with latest research finding about vocabulary learning and what these mean for our classroom practice.
