winter semester 2017/2018 | Last update: 13.12.2017 | Place course on memo listThe acquisition of basic skills in dealing with sources and literature, especially in ancient history.
In this course we will deal with the political and social structure of the polis Sparta (with focus on manliness and femininity). On a more general level the course is meant to be an introduction to the sources, methodological approaches, and tools in ancient history.
Combination of lecture, guided reading, and group work.
Exercises, participation, written paper.
Relevant literature will be announced during the course.
Online registration, maximum up to 25 participants.
Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
