Critical assessment of ancient battle descriptions
Introduction to good scientific practice and the different categories of sources (e.g.: texts, monuments, coins, inscriptions). Discussion of the possibilities and limitations of historiographic and archaeological sources by the means of selected examples. Critical assessment of the research literature.
Combination of lecture, reading tasks and presentations of the participants
Participation in discussions, presentation.
Will be discussed in the first lesson.
Online registration required. Limited number of participants.
