The seminar will focus on the dynamic and multifaceted world of Hellenism. On the base of the ancient sources (in translation) as well as current research literature, we are dealing with different aspects of the Hellenistic world from the forthcoming 4th century until the 1st century BC.: prominent historical figures (from Alexander III to Cleopatra), citizen identity, elites, hellenistic court culture, ruling representations, royal women of the Hellenistic dynasties, religious pluralism, as well as the role of royal women in Hellenistic dynasties and the importance of cities in Hellenism.
