Students acquire a broadly-disciplined theoretical basic knowledge which enables them to follow up general archaeological issues on a partly interdisciplinary basis.

Introduction in current theories and methodologies applied in Ancient Near Eastern archaeological research on selected topics. Students complement this knowledge by contextualising the archaeological approaches within an interdisciplinary context.
