Getting aware of the open or hidden intentions of various historiographic approaches. Enlargement and consolidation of knowledge in the field of Austrian History.
The year 1918 is seen as the fracture between monarchy and republic. What events did take place in the course of the year 1918? If we assume a fracture in the political system, can we also conclude the fracture of Nov 11th for other fields (economy, society, culture)? Did a revolution take place in Austria or a transformation? How was the significance of 1918 seen in the interwar times or later (1968).
Active acquisition of scientific papers, participation in discussions, oral presentation and written (team-) papers.
Continuous assessment, attendance at all sessions, participation in discussions, presentations, written papers.
Prerequsite: Active knowledge of Basics in Austrian History (BW ÖG3). A list of relevant publications is posted via OLAT. The research for relevant publications on specific topics is part of the training.
Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
