To make students familar with central concepts and historical developments of the discipline european thnology.

We will exemplify and discuss core concepts and ways of argumentation used in European Ethnology. Every session is divided into two parts; firstly a general introduction given by the lecturer; secondly a discussion (based on the introduction or a text concerning the respective concept presendet in the session).

Presentations by the lecturer, close reading, group discussion

Permanent participation in discussion; oral examination in the end of the course
