The course puts its focus on "civil society", on its unity and differences, on integration of and conflict between its members and on the socio-economic structures and the sociocultural identity constructions by which unity and difference as well as integration and conflict in civil society are produced, reproduced and changed. Special attention is given to gender relations and the relations between majority and ethnic minorities.

2. Social inequality and the fight for inclusion: (a) class relations and labor movement, (b) gender relations and women's movement and (c) living conditions of Migrants and the struggle for migrants' rights;

3. "Intersectionality": the connections between class, gender and ethnicity and their political consequences.
