402127 VO Political Theorie - Enhanced Level
summer semester 2018 | Last update: 13.02.2019 | Place course on memo listStudents understand the classic and modern concepts of political theory. They recognize meta-theoretical premises of political theory by scientific contextualization of key concepts. They can link historic and theoretical perspectives and are because of their dealing with theories on citizenship and human rights, social movements and publics, justice, peace and democracy, migration and globalization, political subjectiveness and power of action, injustice and representation as well as state and government able to work on and explain processes of political significance.
The Kantian concept of the practical as a poly-dimensional arrangement of (reasonable) freedom shows without doubt one of the most influential paradigms of modern thinking. Brought to a head Kant's question could be read: How can we enable/make possible under the condition of human plurality an at most free development of every single human being?
Contents of the deepening lecture are before this background models of the political as (a Right(Law)-)polity with Kant and - following him – afterwards with Hegel and Marx as well as enlightening-critical-deferring perspectives on it with Foucault, J. Butler and Derrida.
