Insight into the theoretical basis of terminological work. Understanding of the position of terminology in language.

Vienna School of terminology (Eugen Wüster): approach, precursors, context, criticism; later developments: corpora, multilingualism, cognitive approach to language; synthesis: specialized vocabulary and terms in the narrow sense

Formal lecture. Suggestions for further reading will be given in OLAT. Short presentations by students.
