The students are able to

• reflect upon the various perspectives on emotions in the EFL classroom
• discuss the role of culture, language and pragmatic competence in the communication of feelings in English
• evaluate EFL learning and teaching materials in the light of emotion communication
• interpret background literature on the topics dealt with and understand research methods applied in relevant studies

In this seminar, we are going to look at different perspectives on emotions in the EFL classroom. Based on relevant resarch, we review the affective dimensions of EFL learning, discuss various cultural and linguistic aspects of communicating feelings in English and critically reflect upon the role of emotions in learning and teaching materials.

Diese LV ist dem Pflichtmodul 2 („Kompetenzorientierter Fremdsprachenunterricht“) des Bachelorstudiums Lehramt Sekundarstufe (Allgemeinbildung) Unterrichtsfach Englisch zugeordnet. Dem Studienverlauf folgend wird empfohlen, PM2a vor PM2b zu absolvieren.
