Students will reflect critically on selected topics in basic psychological research. To this aim, students will present current research topics (based on their study of scientific articles written in English) in oral presentations and in a term paper.

The seminar will cover developments in basic psychological research with an emphasis on auditory perception and cognition. Topics will cover basic auditory perception (including psychoacoustics), music perception, and comparisons between speech and music processing

Introductory lectures, oral presentations by students, term paper, active participation

Evaluation based on the oral presentations, the term paper, and the participation to class discussions
