Students understand the importance of Physics as the foundation of all natural sciences and their methods. They know the relevant areas of Physics, in particular mechanics, electricity, magnetism, and optics. They know the main relations between the elementary physical quantities and can use them to solve simple quantitative problems.

Basic physics in areas relevant to pharmacy and biology, i.e. physical aspects of processes of life, the physical basis of life science methods and techniques, and bionics. The following fields of physics will be discussed: mechanics of solid bodies, mechanics of liquids and gases, oscillations and waves, thermal physics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and thermal physics. Most examples and applications are taken from the physics of life.

Lecture with Tablet-PC, lecture notes are made available as PDF through OLAT, demonstration experiments
