Finishing the class students have gained a good overview of the functions, location and history of the major financial centers. They know about the gold standard, Bretton Woods and other exchange rate systems and know how to use derivatives (especially options and SWAPs) in currency markets.

Students work on and present a topic from international finance. Students from a non-euro-country should present their home country, with a focus on its currency and exchange rate regime as well as the trade balance.
