winter semester 2018/2019 | Last update: 06.05.2019 | Place course on memo listAfter passing the course you should have gained a basic understanding of Middle High German literature, should be able to use the specific terms, and be aware of cultural characteristics of the epoche. You should also have a basic command of Middle High German grammar so that you shall be able to translate texts in the "Lektürekurs". You shall be familiar with grammatical features of Middle High German and the development of the German language from the Middle Ages to present day.

I will compile a reader which will be avaible from the middle of September (office of Mrs Hell and Mrs Daxer). It will also include the seminar text - please copy the seminar reader and bring it along to the first session. Further references will be included in the reader.
If you do not yet own a dictionary of Middle High German please purchase
Hennig, Beate: Kleines Mittelhochdeutsches Wörterbuch. Tübingen 2014. (Older editions are fine)
If you already have
Lexer, Matthias: Mittelhochdeutsches Taschenwörterbuch. Stuttgart 1999.
in this or an older edition, you don't have to buy Hennig.
Please bring along the dictionary to EVERY session - including the first! Thanks!
Positive evaluation of the modules 7 and 12 (Curriculum 2009) or module 6 (Curriculum 2015) is required for registration to this course.
Recommended for fourth semester BA Germanistik together with VU1 Lektürekurs.
