winter semester 2018/2019 | Last update: 04.08.2021 | Place course on memo listThe aim of this course is to show how the two wars impacted on British society at that time and how the experiences of the war has formed the pillars of modern British society.
“British War Poetry and Beyond” – War poetry from WWI and WWII as well as the Falklands War in 1982. It will not only feature the most important British war poets but will also deal with Pink Floyd respectively Roger Waters’s lyrics/critique in his lyrics dealing with WWII and the Falklands War/Thatcher government at that time.
