Ability to work independently on complex thematic, methodological and theoretical questions; to analyse and present them and to develop them further

The course focuses on current developments and trends in literary studies. To this end we shall study most recent theoretical texts from various areas of critical inquiry and relate them to research projects being carried out at our department, in our faculty and at different research centres and doctoral colleges at our university. In entering into dialogue with individual researchers and discussing their work either in class or in (guest) lectures we will seek to gain insights into topics, theories and methodologies shaping the field of Anglophone literary studies at present.
