Students will have acquired and improved the skills needed to interpret a speech simultaneously.

Simultaneous interpreting of speeches from English into German.

The class will offer theoretical insights as well as practical exercises in simultaneous interpreting. Students will also prepare and present brief and simple speeches which will be interpreted by their peers.

Student preparation and interpreting performances will be evaluated on an ongoing basis; students also have to complete a self-evaluation and participate in final exams.

Students must have completed the Bachelor in order to attend this course. Moreover, students should have excellent listening comprehension skills in German and be very comfortable speaking English.

Before completing the entrance and orientation phase of studies (StEOP), students may enrol for courses comprising a maximum of 22 ECTS. Students who began a degree programme before winter semester 2016/17 and have not yet completed the entrance and orientation phase (StEOP) according to the existing regulations at that time may take an unlimited number of courses/ECTS (enrolment requirements according to the curriculum apply) until successful completion of the entrance and orientation phase (StEOP) by 30.11.2017. After this date, the entrance and orientation phase must be completed successfully before enrolment for further courses can ensue.
