winter semester 2018/2019 | Last update: 19.09.2018 | Place course on memo listAcquisition of basic skills for dealing with historic sources and presentations of Contemporary History as well as skills in presenting the newly acquired knowledge orally as well as in writing. Acquisition of basic knowledge and application of relevant methods aiding scientific research.
Advanced study of subject-specific knowledge based on suitable issues in Contemporary History, also in consideration of the history of women and gender issues, global and regional history as well as topical longitudinal sections and cross-sections and using interactive learning processes (short presentations, presentations, discussions, papers etc.)
Readings, oral presentation with handout, written paper, discussions, formal lecture, exercises
Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, active participation in discussions, oral presentation, written paper (10-15 pp.)
A selected reading-list will be provided at the start of the course.
Due to substantial differences in the allocation of ECTS-Credits in various curricula (teacher training programs/specialized degree programs), the requirements for this course vary. Information will be provided by the instructor at the beginning of the course.
