Acquisition of basic skills for dealing with historic sources and presentations of Contemporary History as well as skills in presenting the newly acquired knowledge orally as well as in writing. Acquisition of basic knowledge and application of relevant methods aiding scientific research.

The proseminar analyses different aspects of contemporary migration to Innsbruck. Students will not only independently research archives and write a short paper, they will also learn how to write short exhibition texts for a broad public audience. A close cooperation with the municipal archives of the city of Innsbruck allows the publication of the texts in form of a poster presentation in 2019 at the Domplatz in Innsbruck.

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, active participation in discussions, oral presentation and handout, paper.
