Competence to structure short- and long-term processes and sequences of events; competence to reflective analysis of generation of historical knowledge with consideration of problem- and method-oriented questions about the Ancient World.

In the context of the imperial turn and an entangled history of empires the course provides an overview of 2000 years of imperial history in the ancient worlds of Eurasia and their "interweaving". It is attempted to create a model of an interconnected history of empires, which will be discussed regarding the latest research literature.
