Guided reading and interpreting key sources and descriptions of Austrian History. Training to develop leading historical questions, to understand historical master narratives and the construction of historical concepts.
This course focuses on sources for an "Austrian Global History".
Working with sources, discussion and small written tasks.
Active contributions in class, short written papers, final exam.
Literature will be announced in class.
Having already passed or attending Basic Knowledge in Austrian History is recommended.
This course is complementary to the PS in Austrian History "Habsburg goes global", but it can also be completed without it.
