Students aquire knowledge about basic optical and electronic properties of different material types and about new materials, e.g. high-temperature superconductors and nanostructured materials. The students then apply their theoretical knowledge and practice the experimental determination of these material properties.
Measurement of electrical conductivity as a function of temperature for semiconductors, metals, and superconductors, detection of charge carrier concentration and mobility, photoconductivity and Hall conductivity, ion conductivity and sensor applications.
