724301 Chemical Calculations
winter semester 2018/2019 | Last update: 20.09.2018 | Place course on memo listAfter successful completion of this module, students are able to apply stochiometric calculations to actual cases. Students are familiar with laboratotory safety issues, handling of hazardous materials and have beginner's laboratory experience. They are able to develop similar contents independently. Students can critically address and evaluate chemical aspects concerning global challenges and limited material and energetic resources.
Significant digit, molecules and ions, empirical formula, mole, percentage of compounds, deduction of chemical formula, chemical equation, balancing redox equations, limiting reactands, yield of chemical reactions, concentration of solutions, stochiometric treatment of two and three component mixtures, gas equilibria, pH-calculations, weak acids and bases, di and tribasic acids, salts of weak acids and bases, buffer solutions, solubility product, precipitation reactions.
