Students will be introduced to the basics of novel, innovative, and efficient drug therapies. During interactive lessons, the students will aquire the basic knowledge about gene therpay. Advances and disadvantages of different viral and non-viral gene delivery will be highlighted, and the main advantages over standard drug therpay discussed.

 

A theoretical desing of preclinical trials will be prepared with the focus on gene therapy targeting refractory epilepsy, starting from plasmid design, all the way through to in vivo animal experiments.
