Practice of Knowledge and Cognition: Reading Course

Understanding the problem of the concept of knowledge and science. Ability to extract the central content of philosophical texts.

Based on historical and current key texts we discuss the core issues of epistemology: What is knowledge? Which forms of knowledge exist? What is a good reason? What is meant by epistemological skepticism? What are the sources of our knowledge?

Reading and discussion of selected texts.

Immanent, preparation of readings, papers on parts of texts.

Thomas Grundmann, Analytische Einführung in die Erkenntnistheorie, Berlin: De Gruyter 2008.
Heinrich, Richard: Wahrheit, UTB, Wien 2009.

For Bachelor's Programme in  Philosophy at the Catholic Theology Faculty (C 033 194): positive completion of compulsory modules 2 and 3.
