The aim of this interdisciplinary lecture is to help students understand the interaction of international, European and national economic law, on the one hand, and economic activities in a global context and the EU internal market, on the other hand. This allows them to realise how legal frameworks shape economic actions, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, how economic actions cause legal rules.

Selected topics of the EU internal market, such as the fundamental freedoms, competition law and the law of state aids, commercial law, tax law, environmental law, the Economic and Monetary Union, as well as crucial aspects of international economic law.

The selected topics will be illustrated from an interdisciplinary (legal and economic) perspective.
