Sensitization for questions concerning refuge and migration in the context of relevant positions of social philosophy; problematization of normative discourses on the rights of "foreigners" in the field of political philosophy; exploration of alternative approaches for a more nuanced understanding of contemporary situations in consideration of Deconstruction, Postcolonial Studies, Radical Democratic Theory.

The phenomenon of clandestinity is - in terms of enigmatic as much as paradigmatic figures of the present such as "illegals" (sans-papiersclandestiniIllegalesin papeles etc.) - on the one hand an ubiquitous and on the other a precarious one. This lectures addresses this "unseeming" phenomenon by proposing diverse routes through the turbulences of globalization, which are irritating and transforming a series of potent historical narratives (such as the state, the border, the society etc.), while considering relevant philosophical positions between refuge and migration, but without uncritically privileging established relations. In other words, this lecture will repeatedly pose the question, if the phenomenon of clandestinity, as it becomes recognizable in a variety of situations, could also be understood as an invitation, to think philosophy anew.
