Knowledge about linguistic/multimodal complexity of scientific texts/discourse,

Intelligibility and recipient design of texts and discourses; knowledge about genres of “science to public” communication.

Ability to analyse and adapt texts (recipient design).  

Reflexion about social responsibility of science. 

Ability to write a paper.

Due to the complexity of scientific knowledge, language use in science is highly differeneciated. For communicating with the public language use has to be modified.

Moreover different formats of communication have to be used to gain the attention of the public.

We will analyse different formats like books, magazines, exhibitions, science slams for different target groups (children, adults). The 350^th anniversary of the University of Innsbruck will provide – amongst others – a rich data basis.
