Basics of media analysis with a focus on the connections and relationships between film shots or montage and music.

The VU is additional to the VO Media Sciences. According to the focus of this semester, there will first be a survey over the possible connections between film and music and subsequently we will carry out exemplary analyzes based on the example of a film (Sergio Leone's "C'era una volta il west" with his striking film music) and two video clips, one French and one Spanish.

Since the course is offered by the Romance studies department, students of Romance studies will be favoured in the enrolment, but of course other interested students are welcome as well!
