The ERASMUS programme has existed for 30 years now. Through this programme, the EU has been promoting student exchanges between European tertiary education institutions. The department of Romance Philology of Innsbruck University offers its students a wide range of possible destinations: 31 (!) partner universities in France, Belgium, Italy and Spain, in smaller and bigger towns and geographically different regions. Despite this range of options the number of applicants for ERASMUS+ has diminished considerably in the last few years. It seems that sudents are not always well informed, which is why this course has been created. In the course, the participants are supposed to find out more about the ERASMUS+ programme themselves and develop ideas about how to best promote the programme among students of our department. The course should also bring together students who have already been abroad as ERASMUS+ beneficiaries and those who have not. The activities in the course may include:
- Survey of the reasons why students of the Department of Romance Philology choose to apply for an ERASMUS+ grant or not (through interviews or questionnaires etc.)
- Designing a (new) online questionnaire for ERASMUS+ alumni; enabling automatic data processing
- Collection of testimonials and other promotional material (e.g. touristic material about the different partner countries)
- Designing a promotion concept for the ERASMUS+ programme at the Department of Romance Philology
- Promotion of the ERASMUS+ programme via different media channels (departmental website, facebook, other social media), promotional flyer or poster, promotional video etc.
- Organisation of a final event at the end of the semester in which the results and the promotional concept are presented and to which other colleagues will be invited
