The course aims to give students extended knowledge of Italian Modern literature and to practice a critical and independent understanding of central questions in the study of Crisis and Literature.
We will discuss concepts of crisis and Italian literature around 1900: Italo Svevo: Senilità (l'edizione consigliata: Garzanti); Luigi Pirandello: Il fu Mattia Pascal (l'edizione consigliata: Feltrinelli); Luigi Pirandello: Quaderni di Serafino Gubbio operatore (l'edizione consigliata: Garzanti). Federigo Tozzi: Con gli occhi chiusi (l'edizione consigliata: Garzanti).
