The language course "Polish IV" is meant to develop the students' grammatical, phonetic and lexical competences with regard to the active and receptive command of the Polish language. The main emphasis of this course is laid on the four language skills "Listening", "Speaking", "Reading" and "Writing"; systematic development of linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic and intercultural competences.

This course is aimed at the further development of grammatical competences and the active language use; phonetic competences and listening skills will be trained, active speaking and Polish everyday conversations from different subject areas will be part of this course. By the end of this course students will reach the language level A2/B1 (basic/independent user according to the CEFR). The students can understand the main points of clear standart input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school/university, leisure, etc. Active language use referring to the following subject areas: personal information, information about one's own family, presenting oneself, school education, work, leisure, going shopping, visiting a restaurant, booking a hotel room, immediate environment, describing one's daily routine. The students can share their experiences with others and relate past events, talk about hopes, describe their goals and give reasons and explanations for their point of view or plans. 

Interactive language teaching.

Some examinations during the term, written homework assignments, active participation, written endterm test.
