Linguistic fundamentals of traditional and present-day gender-discourse; contrastive analysis of the ways languages indicate gender (seen from a grammatical and a pragmatic perspective); diachronic aspects of marking gender. Relevance of these questions for the translator.
Analysis of gender-relevant morphological and lexical structures; joint reading of publications that had notable influence on the gender-discourse.
