Acquisition of competences and a critical attitude in dealing with historical sources and representations of Contemporary History as well as the ability to present the newly-acquired knowledge in oral and/or written form; acquisition of the competent use of relevant scientific methods.

Reading and evaluation of historical sources and representations on the history of decolonisation in relation to the Cold War; identification of the scholarly formulation of questions in history, historical representation and narratives; reading and evaluation of historiographical texts and analysis of their suitability as historical sources.

Reading, oral presentations with paper, paper, discussion; teacher's lecture.

Course with continuous performance assessment: attendance at all sessions, regular and active participation in discussions, oral presentation with handout, final paper (max. 5 pages).

Reading list will be provided.

Before attending this course,  we recommend the lecture VO3 basic knowledge from the respective core subject.
