Expansion and consolidation of specific knowledge in the field of contemporary history by examination of new and uncommon topics, taking into account current tendencies and controversies of research, applying scientific skills (methods and working techniques) and linking with basic content, development of skills for the independent formulation of historical questions.

The  course aims to examine original documents and contemporary printed sources (in the Tyrolean State Archives and the Ferdinandeum's Library) in order to shed light on the presence and activities of troop contingents and various commissions from Italy, France, the UK and other Entente countries in the Tirol in the immediate aftermath of the Great War. The aim is to produce publishable findings about this hitherto poorly researched chapter of Tirol's history.

Lecture, reading, discussion.

Regular attendance, active participation in discussions, required readings, oral presentation, paper.

Will be provided at the beginning of the course.

Online-enrollment starting on Feb. 1, 2019!
