World War I, First Republic, February 1934, Road to the Anschluss, Austria as “Victim”, Crystal Night, Holocaust, Mauthausen and Hartheim, Postwar Planning, Second Republic and Cold War, State Treaty, Kreisky Era and after, South Tyrol.
This course focuses on Austria during the First Republic up to the Anschluß, Austria as a part of the Third Reich, Austria as “victim”, the Holocaust, post-war planning, the State Treaty, the Cold War, Kreisky, South Tyrol. This course includes a three-day field trip: Mauthausen/ Obersalzberg („Eagle’s Nest“,Kehlstein, NS-Exibition, etc.).
Combination of lectures, readings and media presentations with discussions, individual reports, field trip and final exam.
This course combines lectures, readings and media presentations with discussions, individual reports, field trips, and final exam. In addition to our regular meetings in the seminar room, there are 3 full days of field trips with overnights.
