The acquisition of basic skills in dealing with sources and literature, especially in ancient history.

Using the example of the "Roman Empire", the course introduces sources, criticism and the scientific methodology of ancient history. The focus lies on the imperial women, their lifes, their scope of action, their constraints and their evaluation by contemporary sources.

Combination of lecture, guided reading, short presentations and group work.

Exercises, participation, written paper.

Relevant literature will be announced during the course.

Online registration, maximum up to 25 participants.
