Learning Outcome:

This exercise course is held alongside the Lectures in Theoretische Meteorology: Dynamik (707640). The objective of the course is to provide practical knowledge of the theory presented during the Lectures. The exercises therefore directly follow the topics covered by the Lectures.

Contents:

basic principles, conservation laws, simple applications, circulation and vorticity, Planetary Boundary Layer

Methods:

The course mainly consists of home work assignments that will be available on OLAT and are to be solved by the students within the next week. During the exercise course selected students will present last week's home work at the blackboard.

There will be a midterm exam roughly in the middle of the semester and a final exam at the end.

Assessment:

Mixed: presentations at the blackboard, written home work assignments, and written exams
