The students should gain an overview upon commonly relevant findings made in (modern) astronomy and space flight.They should then link and integrate their new knowledge into their personal view of the world in an interdisciplinary way.

New findings in our planetary system resulting from space probes (Mercury,Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto), water in the universe, origin of our planetary system, especially origin and future of the planet Earth, exoplanets, astrobiology, comets, dimensions in the universe: sizes, time, temperature, topic in march/april: why is spring starting on march 20th, gregorian calendar reform, easter and astronomy, newsworthy astronomical events during the semester will be included in the lecture.

Lecture, extensive use of multimedial material: videos, images, audio.

Written exam.

Is depending on up-to-date subjects, too, will be announced during the lecture.
