Basic understanding of legal problems that arise in the cross-border context, comprehending the international dimensions of private law

International dimensions of private law will be presented with a special focus on business-related aspects. A first part will address various projects of harmonization of contract law, including the CISG and EU instruments. The second part will deal with the question which law applies in a cross-border setting (conflict of laws).
