Students acquire the ability to list different approaches to electoral analysis and party research as well as political communication and media research. Moreover, they know how to analyse the influence of public opinion to politics.
Case studies: Elections in 2017: Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom
Within the past year, elections were held and new governments emerged in Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom. In the seminar, we will analyze und contrast different forms of communication that were employed in the campaigns (TV confrontations, Social Media, election posters, classical media).
Discussion of literature, class discussion, project work
Class participation, written paper
