To develop students’ ability to understand, to analyse and to identify instuments with their pros and cons to solve environmental problems, including their national and international dimensions.

The analysis of environmental problems from an economic perspective; environmental instruments: analysis and discussion of selective environmental problems (e.g. consumers / producers perspective, economic efficiency, political acceptance, international perspective).

Working out the basics of the economic analysis of the environmental problem in the lecture, autonomous studying of the literature as well as discussion led by the lecturer. Working out particularly selected matters concerning environmental problems by means of study of the literature, independent contributions and discussion.

The active participation as well as the contributions included in the course will be evaluated in oral and written form (preparation of a seminar paper on a selected topic).

The contents discussed in the lecture and in the proseminar is closely linked.
