SE Methodology-Workshop
SE 2

Students are familiar with different approaches in the social sciences. They are able to apply them to their own research projects and know how to use specific qualitative and quantitative methods. They know about the advantages and limits of these research methods and are able to understand how to interpret and criticize them. Moreover, they are able to plan, conduct, and evaluate their research projects according to scientific standards.

The seminar supports PhD students in working on their dissertation. We will discuss and apply qualitative methods and methodologies, reflect your research process, work on your writing, and interpret your data. The main part of the seminar is dedicated to the individual projects of the participants. Depending on the stage of research we will discuss your outline, the methodological design, a dissertation chapter, do data sessions, etc. The remaining time is dedicated to more general questions which connect to the interests and needs of the participants
