The objective of this course is to allow students to develop fine grasp of basic concepts of financial markets, asset management, and asset valuation. After completing this course, students shall reach a flexible level of understanding to be able to identify, discuss and solve advanced problems in the field of finance and business administration.

Financial markets from a theoretical and practical point of view: informational efficiency of financial markets, interaction and decisions of market participants in the context of market equilibriuim, agency theory and information, as well as related concepts of asset valuation.

The topics presented in the lecture guide students through the basic concepts of financial markets. Special emphasis is put on encouraging students to contribute to discussions and to create a climate of critical awareness in which students learn to evaluate the models’ contributions.
