Students will ...

• learn about the key elements of a good academic paper (thesis statement, structure of paper, bibliography, …);
• familiarise themselves with various research methods;
• ask specific questions about their BA papers and discuss them in the group;
• present their work progress;
• learn to improve their writing in a designated workshop;

This course aims at supporting students in the writing of the BA theses (especially in the fields of cultural and literary studies). We will discuss various aspects of good academic practice and what goes into the researching and writing of an academic paper. Students will be given the opportunity to talk about their research project and their progress in a small group. Additionally, the students will be given a chance to practice their academic writing in a writing workshop.
